The Common 10 Year Anniversary
Dane hails from the icy Plaines of Canada’s North. Born and raised in the work hardy city of Edmonton, he grew up playing Shinny Hockey and driving a zamboni in the local rinks. Naturally those cold nights on the ice led him directly to the warmth of the dance floor at the age of 15. From then on his life in Edmonton blossomed into being a part of a loving community, where he manned the local record shop and played his weekly residency at The Common for over half a lifetime. Love, records and dancing have always been Dane’s passion. It shows in his sets with maniacal hair flips, expressive dancing and belting out lyrics to every hard dug record in his crates. Obsessive collecting and practice have made Dane one of Canada’s favourite 4x4 contributors. Carrying on the message of love, unity and lust for music, that you can feel every time you share the dance floor with him. Whatever the mood, he’ll take you higher and higher and let you leave happy and fulfilled.

Ardalan’s ‘Mr. Good’ LP, announced today via DIRTYBIRD, offers a distinctive and emotional look into the heart and mind of a young artist. It’s a coming-of-age tale and an aural exploration of the producer’s path—from growing up in his two homes of Iran and San Francisco, to finding success and grappling with the sacrifice that comes with it. The story unfolds across eleven tracks produced amongst the crests and valleys that define the perpetual search for creative freedom.

The Jason Corbett-led outfit ACTORS are standing on the shoulders of titans with their brand of the style, and could almost be referred to as "post-post-punk". In a period where we narrowcast rather than broadcast so fans and new music-seekers can firmly plant themselves in a niche, Corbett takes swings at creating sounds and production techniques that one would not usually find in a starter package of cliché plugins and samples. Backed by a stoic yet playful backing band, the frontman shows an enthusiasm while performing and recording that often isn't seen or heard in his preferred genre
If you close your eyes while listening to Uncanny Valley, you might imagine punk-era Devo covering the leather-clad period of Depeche Mode — played at least twice as hard. This synth-driven powerhouse of post-punk rips and snarls with ferocity, but never forgets to keep chunky rhythm or jubilant synth melody at equal prominence in the mix.

Bad Buddy TOUR KICKOFF
Bad Buddy is a foursome making fearsome rock tunes. They’re scrappy as hell and riled up with primal riffs, gang vocals and a whole lotta snarl. Expect a little bit of surf, a dash of Motown and plenty of rip.
The Shiverettes are back on their bitchy bullshit releasing their sophomore album Real Shrill Bitches on April 18 2019. Noted as an anticipated release by Cups N Cakes Podcast, the album builds on noisy femme punk foundations with post-punk inspired rhythms. As always the songs are honest explorations of their lived experiences as women; which are sometimes comical sometimes tragic and often both. Accountability has never been so fun! 2018 saw the band mostly off stage and in the studio and they are psyched to rip up stages in 2019.
